The set offers a concise snapshot of the classic album's remarkable (and seemingly inconceivable) metamorphosis - from ambitious, independently-released concept album with a niche cult following to seminal, globally-revered masterpiece and major label crossover success.

Culled from several archival cassette tapes recorded during the summer of 1995, the riveting 15-track set captures Daou - and her 6-piece live band - in preparation for her upcoming ‘Zipless’ World Tour, where she was the supporting act for Ziggy Marley, Jamiroquai and Gang Starr co-founder Guru’s seminal Jazzmatazz solo project. The recordings offer fans a rare intimate glimpse into the raw underpinnings of Vanessa's innovative and singular sonic brew: a harmonious hybrid of smokey jazz, sultry urban electronica, spacious ambient pop, soul, dance, spoken word and lounge.
